Who We Are

John Hertig, PharmD, MS, CPPS, FASHP, FFIP

John is former faculty and Past-Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department in the Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (Indianapolis, USA). He lectures around the world and publishes on a variety of patient safety, leadership, administration, and health policy topics. He serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Medicine Access, and his extensive research program is designed to enhance the safety of the medication use process, while using evidence to inform patient advocacy efforts.

John is a Member of the United States Food and Drug Administration Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee. He holds other national and international appointments, including with the International Pharmaceutical Federation, where he is Treasurer for the Hospital Pharmacy Section. He is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FASHP), and a Fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FFIP).

Michael Stepanovic, PharmD, MS

Michael Stepanovic is a pharmacist and assistant professor, specializing in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at the University of North Carolina, Eshelman School of Pharmacy. His research focuses on medication quality, pharmacy leadership, and expanding non-clinical pathways for students. He is a passionate advocate for leveraging technology to enhance health care delivery.

Stepanovic's academic background includes a PharmD from Purdue University, followed by a MS in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from the School. He completed clinical training with a PGY1 Acute Care Residency and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His professional career has been marked by roles at AstraZeneca, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and prominent research institutions such as Rush University Medical Center and the University of Chicago Medical Center. An innovator, he also founded MedTrak and IdentifyRx, two ventures aimed at tracking medications through the supply chain and identifying substandard or falsified drug products.

Dr. Adonis Saremi, MD, MS, DABOM

Dr. Adonis Saremi, MD, is a nationally recognized doctor and triple board-certified in Obesity Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Clinical Informatics. He also holds a Master's degree in Applied Physiology, giving him a unique, science-driven perspective on metabolic health, weight loss, and human performance.

He is the former Chief Medical Officer for Noom, a telehealth weight management platform, and is currently seeing patients in his concierge practice.

Dr. Saremi completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, where he developed a strong foundation in complex patient care and evidence-based medicine. He has served as a consultant for the Medical Board of California, providing expert opinions on standards of care using evidence-based guidelines. Additionally, Dr. Saremi has held an academic appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine, contributing to the education and training of future physicians.

Donney John, PharmD

Donney is a practicing pharmacist in Virginia. He brings experience in precision medicine, population health management, and health equity from his work as Executive Director of NOVA ScriptsCentral, a nonprofit pharmacy providing free medications to uninsured patients in Northern Virginia. Donney is also former Chief Clinical Officer at Pharmacist Partners. He is renowned for his imaginative and strategic thinking, having garnered experience in every facet of the healthcare industry. His distinctive perspective is centered on identifying practical solutions to elevate health outcomes, particularly within underserved communities. Donney has delivered speeches across the country on a range of healthcare topics and has earned recognition from the National Minority Quality Forum as a leader in health, being named among their "40 Under 40" honorees.

Malcolm Broussard, BS Pharm, LHD (hon), FLSHP

Malcolm practiced pharmacy for 20 years in a variety of practice settings, including hospitals, community pharmacies, and ambulatory infusion centers. He then served the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy for 23 years as its executive director. In that role he guided the Board of Pharmacy through multiple hurricane recovery programs, and the development and implementation of the state prescription monitoring program.

Malcolm is active in local, state, national, and international pharmacy organizations. His service includes President of the Louisiana Pharmacists Association, President of the Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and President of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. Malcolm completed his pharmacy education at Xavier College of Pharmacy in New Orleans, and more recently, received an honorary doctorate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana.

Elizabeth Johnson, PharmD, FAPhA

Elizabeth is a pharmacist, pharmacy consultant, and leader based in Sacramento, California. She has had a highly varied career in pharmacy and healthcare with direct patient care as a pharmacist in hospitals and community pharmacies. She served as SVP of the California Pharmacists Association and then worked in rheumatology, women's health, and managed healthcare systems.

Elizabeth served on multiple committees for the American Pharmacists Association and California Pharmacists Association and serves on the Alumni Association board for the University of the Pacific's Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.

Lisa Robin, MLA

A known and trusted voice in the medical regulatory community, Lisa brings 16 years of federal and state health policy experience from her time leading the Federation of State Medical Boards' Washington, DC office, where she managed legislative affairs and public policy on behalf of state medical boards nationwide. Through this work, Lisa developed a deep understanding of the people, policies, and politics of state health care regulation.
